Still, it wasn't exactly to her liking. How about an onion? Anna tried it, but it was rather smelly and she had to use nose plugs; definitely not her perfect house. After that, Anna thought a carrot might be perfect. But she found it hardly had room for her belongings. Anna searched for a very long time. Just as she was becoming discouraged, she found the perfect residence.Young children will adore this endearing tale. Not only will they smile, but at the end there are educational questions about various fruits and veggies and why they are important to you. At the end of the book, there is a section of riddles about vegetables and questions and answers about vegetables. I think this is a good way to teach young children about vegetables and how important they are. The illustrations have vivid color and a lot of details.I think this is a must-have book for a home library or preschool class. The next time I am with my grandson, I plan on reading it to him. For some reason, most books encourage only eating vegetables and not eating fruit. Fruits give the body what vegetables give and they also have other benefits - they are more satisfying and their taste is sweet and loved by the children. I have not yet read this book by Adler in the English version but I know it from the Hebrew language. An imaginative book with rhyme and rhythm, one of our favorite books in the family.
