YOU GOTTA HAVE THIS! YOU NEED THIS! FEAST THOSE SAVAGE EYES ON IT...THE ALL-MIGHTY DOLLAR! Scholarship Essay Winner's Guide: GET THAT MONEY was written for YOU! Whether you are an advanced writer or a writer like me with mediocre writing talents, this book is for you. When I was in high school, I was hesitant about applying for scholarships because in my mind, I knew that either my subject verb agreement was not going to be up to par or that the scholarship committee was going to favor someone they already knew. Sure, there were some local scholarships that I know I should have won in which the scholarship committee favored someone else. On the other hand, there were a couple of local scholarships in which I did win, and as far as those state, national and foundational scholarships, I GOT THAT MONEY!JUST WRITE! This book is comprised of award-winning scholarship essays that I recently wrote during my junior and senior year of high school. When my high school counselor emailed to me my first scholarship application, I read over the application and saw that I met all of the qualifications. Then, I saw the requirements and one of them was to write a 1500-word essay. I very quickly shoved the application into my math folder and did not think twice about it. When I got home from school that evening, my mother, as she always does, asked me if I had homework. I told her that I did not have any homework. Between you and I, I did have homework, but I did not want to do it at that time. Ok I was untruthful to her, but I did share with her that I had received a scholarship application and that I was not interested because I already had too much on my plate. She asked to see the document and I gave it to her and went to my room and laid across my bed thinking that I was getting ready to do what I do best...take a nap. Needless to say, she burst into my room and shouted, "Oh no ma'am! Get up! You gone apply for this scholarship! I aint got no money to be paying for college and you definitely don't want to be getting all those loans or having to swing from pole to pole to pay for it." To sum up the situation, I ended up applying for the scholarship. It took me a couple of weeks to get it all together, and I must say that the toughest part was writing the essay. However, once I was finished, it was like a weight lifted off my shoulders. About a month later, I received an email and a letter in the mail reading that I had won the scholarship! The best part of this scholarship and several others that I received was that I was given a check with my name on it. The check was not sent to the university in which I was planning to attend; it was written and given directly to me about a month after I applied for the scholarship! I used the scholarship money to purchase the new Air Jordan sneakers that I had been longing for. JUST KIDDING! I deposited it into my savings account and when I graduated high school, I used it to purchase items for college. My winning that very first scholarship was the motivational boost that I needed to move forward to apply for many more scholarships. After that first triumph, I knew that I could do it! I started worrying the heck out of my school counselor. Every week after that, either my mother or I was emailing or asking if she had received any other scholarships in which I could apply. Scholarships are the best way for teens, especially high schoolers, to earn money for their future. My advice to you is to apply for as many scholarships in which you qualify to apply for. Please do not sell yourself short! You can do this! You do not have to be an advanced writer; that is why you ask at least two people, preferably a teacher and another adult or friend who are proficient writers to proofread and assist you along the way like I did.IF YOU LIKE MONEY, LET ME HELP YOU GET THAT MONEY! (As read in Yahoo News)After becoming an accidental expert in all things University of California admissions, author Joy Bagnol-Estudillo recently released her tell-all roadmap to an acceptance letter, A Mom’s Guide Applying for Admission to University of California Campuses. With post-COVID information and updated statistics, this special edition is specifically tailored to Generation Z students and their parents.A Mom’s Guide Applying for Admission to University of California Campuses is more than just a handbook on the application process. Instead, Bagnol-Estudillo dissects each stage and offers actionable insights to improve applicants’ chances of success. From the removal of the SAT/ACT scores to answering Personal Insight Questions (PIQs), this guide is designed to educate students about best practices and help them make informed decisions during a pivotal moment in their lives.Bagnol-Estudillo’s methods may be insightfully unconventional, but they are not unproven. After all three of her children were accepted to University of California, Berkeley, she realized that there needed to be far more substance to a successful application than just GPA and test scores. In fact, Bagnol-Estudillo challenges many college-related myths, like the incorrect assumption that numbers matter over all else, and that she explains in detail “it’s a numbers game” in getting accepted. Additionally, she advises that what and how you say it in your application, using context are what “adds value” (admissions lingo talk) to your application. With 2021 admission rates plummeting, the University of California system is becoming increasingly competitive. UCLA set a record for its all-time lowest acceptance rate at 10.7% of freshman applicants. Parents and Generation Z students who are considering a University of California school can tremendously increase their odds of success with this insightful, easy and quick-to-read breakdown of the application process.A Mom’s Guide Applying for Admission to University of California Campuses is meticulously researched and updated for the modern Gen Z student. While other college guides offer generic advice or outdated personal essay prompts and recommendations, Bagnol-Estudillo has taken great care to include relevant advice like being a social media influencer on TikTok and Twitch is a very unique activity to list as your ECs. She offers suggestions that will appeal to Generation Z students who will be applying to colleges this fall. This is the only book on the market that specifically targeted Generation Z (broadly defined as those born between 1997 and 2012).As the University of California application period (November 1–30, 2021) approaches for the coming year, A Mom’s Guide Applying for Admission to University of California Campuses is an essential reference guide to any college planning session.
